Borgo Soandri

A festival for every season, starting in summer with “Fasin la Mede” when the ancient haymaking ritual is renewed on Mount Zoncolan; the “setors” (the men) mow the grass while “las Vores” (the women) pile up large sheaves of hay. It is an outdoor festival offering gastronomy, workshops for children, music and tastings. Then there’s the customary Magia del Legno (wood magic) event, when all the hamlets and village roads are turned into genuine outdoor craft workshops where woodcarvers and sculptors demonstrate their craftsmanship. During the whole Christmas period, Sutrio and Borgo Soandri host the “Borghi e presepi” (hamlets and nativity scenes) in their courtyards and loggias. This extraordinary event showcases handmade nativity scenes from all over Europe, with a full calendar of entertainment for adults and children alike.

These sweet animals are bred and taken care of at the Riu dal Mus farm where Chiara will teach you how to groom, cuddle and ride these cute animals on easy educational paths. A wide range of rehabilitation activities and educational excursions are offered to families and children on the back of the most patient animal.

Ten minutes by car separate the Borgo Soandri from Mount Zoncolan, the wide ski resort which is set like a big shell in one of the most beautiful areas of the Carnic Pre-Alps. A modern snow park and 28 km of ski runs, which are always perfectly snow covered, will provide skiers with an unforgettable experience.
