Comeglians

Things to do and see

Comeglians
The noble art of sewing

The workshop of Maria Teresa De Antoni, the owner of the artisan firm “De Antoni Carnia”, is in a prestigious early nineteenth-century villa set immersed in a large park, in Comeglians. The passion for making boiled wool articles is a family tradition which led to them opening a sales point for wool and yarn, where today Maria Teresa sells her boiled wool jackets, waistcoats, and women’s and children’s outfits: the typical beautiful clothes and warm slippers of this area. The garments are beautifully hand-embroidered.

Panoramica delle Vette

This road leaves from Ravascletto climbing up to 1,900 metres of altitude and then continues at high altitude for some kilometres offering an amazing view; on the way you will find malghe (typical shepherd’s huts) where it is possible to taste dairy products, and you will often see marmots or an eagle flying in the sky. From here with a half-an-hour walk you will reach the top of the Crostis from where you will suddenly see the imposing massif of Mount Coglians. Walking downhill you will have the possibility to take some refreshment at the Chiadinas Farm Holiday Centre, which offers a varied traditional menu. Following the road, you will then descend to Tualis, a small hamlet of Comeglians. In summer this route can be covered by car or, for the bravest and fittest, by bicycle. In winter this area is suitable for excursions with snowshoes or ski touring.
