The Natural Reserve Forra del Cellina comprises the most significant part
of the big furrow dug by the Cellina stream on the calcareous layers, between
the wide pre-Alpine valley of Barcis and the high plain of Montereale.
The narrow gorge carved away by the stream over the years, looks like
a big canyon. It is possible to visit the protected area along the “Troi del
Dint” (Dint Path), a themed itinerary rich in natural views and wide panoramas
over the stunning canyon.
The Parco delle Dolomiti Friulane (Park of the Dolomites of Friuli) is situated
on the mountain ranges enclosed between the rivers Tagliamento and
Piave, above the Pianura Friulana Occidentale (Western Plain of Friuli) and
comprises 36,950 hectares among the most beautiful of the whole region.
The summits of the Dolomites and the wonderful natural views make this
area a real paradise for hiking, trekking and climbing.
